The History Of Lowline Cattle: The Australian Lowlines are of champion stock with an Australian history dating back to 1929, and beyond that in Canada, the United States, England and Scotland. They are docile, and well conformed. They offer small holders and those farmers with limited acreage available from their other activities the option of keeping docile cattle of high quality. The Scots who first developed black cattle would be as proud of the Lowlines as of any of their giant cousins. They made their first appearance at the Brisbane Royal National in 1994, and subsequently at the Sydney Royal Show in 1995, and Melbourne and Canberra Royals in 1996. They are now regular exhibits at agricultural shows around Australia.

Our Lowline cattle herd consists of top quality Two - 3/4 Lowline Cows and One - Purebred Heifer, One Full blood Bull and One - Purebred Bull. These come from a variety of Lowline Angus bloodlines.
Our goal is to produce consistently superior seed stock Lowline Cattle utilizing pasture breeding. Also, we intend to raise beef for market and be ready to deliver in 2009. Given the uniqueness of these Lowline cattle, their limited number and high prices for breeding stock, our program consists of offering the 5/8 Lowline steers from our Angus and Angus/Lowline cows breed to Lowline bulls. Our Lowline cross grass-fed steers are raised and fattened on our native and tame pastures and, due to some wintertime interruption, supplemented with native grass mixed with alfalfa. This is done without drugs or added hormones. We do use salt and minerals and a small percentage of grain to supplement their diet.
We are very excited about the future of Lowline cattle. The market is strong and growing stronger with each passing year. These cattle are very easy to manage, tend, and a real pleasure to raise.
Miniature cattle offer the opportunity for smaller acreage property owners to experience raising cattle for profit or enjoyment.
Corlis Dees III just returned from National Western Stock Show where he was able to see first-hand the increased interest in Loweline Cattle nationwide.
The National Western is more than just a rodeo. Serious stockmen still travel here for the Livestock Show from all across the United States. This year we were able to meet people from Australia that raise Lowline Cattle. The cattle aren't just your everyday farm ones. Sure, there are cattle, horses, goat, sheep and poultry, but we had an opportunity to take a look at the West's best? Rocky Mountain favorites found here are bison, elk, llama and yak. Anyone for a Cashmere Goat Show? Skip on down to the livestock center and you'll even catch a few more shows from Dog Pulls to Dog Shows, National Angus Bull or Hereford Shows, Cutting Horse Contests and the typical local 4-H shows for the kids in the area. Today's National Western gives you a lot more bang for your buck. It would remind you of our old home town Houston Live Stock and Rodeo Extravaganza.
