The History Of Lowline Cattle: The Australian Lowlines are of champion stock with an Australian history dating back to 1929, and beyond that in Canada, the United States, England and Scotland. They are docile, and well conformed. They offer small holders and those farmers with limited acreage available from their other activities the option of keeping docile cattle of high quality. The Scots who first developed black cattle would be as proud of the Lowlines as of any of their giant cousins. They made their first appearance at the Brisbane Royal National in 1994, and subsequently at the Sydney Royal Show in 1995, and Melbourne and Canberra Royals in 1996. They are now regular exhibits at agricultural shows around Australia.
 2nd Chance Ranch

2nd Chance Ranch is located 35 minutes SE of Indianapolis in Shelby County, Indiana.

Our Lowline Angus cattle herd consists of top quality grassfed "only" beef. Presently, we have a total of 23 cows and bulls. Includes 50-50's, 3/4's, purebred, and full blood's. Purebred Heifers,  One full blood registered Bull. These come from a variety of Lowline Angus bloodlines.

Our goal is to produce consistently superior seed stock Lowline Cattle utilizing pasture breeding.  Also, we raise all grass fed finished freezer beef.  Given the uniqueness of these Lowline cattle, their limited number and high prices for breeding stock, our program consists of offering percentage Lowline steers from our Angus and Angus/Lowline bred to registered Lowline bulls. Our Lowline natural grass-fed steers are raised and finished on our native and tame pastures, supplemented with native grass mixed with alfalfa and other native grass. This is done without drugs or added hormones. We do use salt and carefully selected minerals to supplement their diet.

We are very excited about the future of Lowline breed. The market is strong and growing stronger with each passing year. These cattle are very easy to manage, tend, and a real pleasure to raise.

Miniature cattle offer the opportunity for smaller acreage property owners to experience raising cattle for profit or enjoyment. The number to call for more information is 317-508-8519 Corlis Dees III.

Corlis Dees III is a board member of the www.easternlowline.com/index.php . He is able to experience first-hand, the increased interest in Loweline Cattle nationwide.

Australian Lowline Cattle were developed from the Angus herd which was established at the Trangie Research Centre in 1929 to provide quality breeding stock for the NSW cattle industry.
The Angus breed has its origins in eastern Scotland, in the counties of Aberdeen and Angus, where it was developed from the native black hornless cattle.

Corlis is in this industry for the long run. He has tremendous confidence in the breed and will certainly give you honest answers for your interests.
